KioMedine® Injections for Knee Osteoarthritis in Essex

KioMedine® is an innovative, single-injection treatment for the symptomatic management of knee osteoarthritis. KioMedine® VSone is a biodegradable fluid implant containing carboxymethyl-chitosan (CM-chitosan), an animal-free material derived from button mushrooms. It is designed to supplement the joint environment by improving lubrication and reducing friction within the knee. Clinical studies have reported improvements in pain, stiffness and physical function following treatment, although individual results vary.

Treatment involves a single intra-articular injection administered by an appropriately experienced healthcare professional. We will assess your knee, discuss your previous treatments and consider whether KioMedine® is appropriate alongside other options such as physiotherapy, exercise rehabilitation, hyaluronic acid or other injection treatments. KioMedine® is not suitable for everyone, including people with certain infections, severe knee inflammation or specific medical conditions, so suitability is assessed on an individual basis.
