Clinic Update

Dear Valued Patients and Friends of The Arthritis Clinic,

As we reflect on the past year, we wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support. Since moving into our current premises in August 2025, we’ve come a long way. When we first took possession, the clinic was simply an empty shell, and it’s incredible to look back and see everything we’ve achieved together.

None of this would have been possible without the trust and support of our patients. Providing exceptional care and ensuring every patient has the best possible experience remains at the heart of everything we do.

Since our last newsletter, we’ve made several exciting additions and developments to the clinic, and we’re delighted to share them with you.

Welcoming Mr Andy Causer

We are delighted to welcome Mr Andy Causer to The Arthritis Clinic.

Andy is a highly experienced Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with many years of experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. He brings extensive expertise in physiotherapy, injection therapy, independent prescribing, and chronic pain management.

Andy is available every Wednesday and offers comprehensive physiotherapy alongside landmark-guided corticosteroid and hyaluronic acid injections.

Introducing Shockwave Therapy

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve invested in advanced Shockwave Therapy technology, allowing us to offer another evidence-based treatment option for persistent tendon conditions.

Shockwave Therapy is a NICE-approved treatment and is widely used throughout the NHS for conditions including:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Greater trochanteric pain syndrome (trochanteric bursitis)
  • Tennis elbow
  • Golfer’s elbow
  • Shoulder tendinopathy

This non-invasive treatment can help stimulate healing and reduce pain when other treatments have not been successful.

New Injection Treatments – Kiomedine & Arthrosamid

For many years we’ve successfully offered corticosteroid injections, hyaluronic acid injections and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy for osteoarthritis.

However, some patients with more advanced osteoarthritis may not achieve sufficient relief from these treatments and may not yet wish to consider joint replacement surgery.

To provide additional options, we are now offering Kiomedine and Arthrosamid injections for knee osteoarthritis.

Both treatments have demonstrated encouraging results in patients with moderate osteoarthritis (Grade 2–3):

  • Kiomedine can provide pain relief for up to 12 months.
  • Arthrosamid has been shown to provide pain relief for up to five years in suitable patients.

If you would like to discuss whether either treatment may be appropriate for you, we’d be happy to help.

Our New Esaote Ultrasound Scanner

We’re proud to have invested in a new Esaote C-25 Ultrasound Scanner, representing another significant investment in the quality of care we provide.

This latest-generation scanner delivers outstanding image quality and enhanced diagnostic accuracy, allowing us to provide even more precise diagnostic ultrasound assessments and ultrasound-guided injections.

Expanded Physiotherapy Services

With both Jack and Andy now part of our clinical team, we are delighted to offer an expanded physiotherapy service.

Our treatments include:

  • Hands-on physiotherapy and joint mobilisation
  • Manipulation techniques
  • Acupuncture
  • Shockwave Therapy
  • Individual rehabilitation programmes
  • Exercise prescription
  • Sports and musculoskeletal injury management

Our aim is always to provide personalised treatment plans to help you move more comfortably, recover more quickly and stay active.

Thank You

Finally, we’d like to sincerely thank every one of our patients for your continued trust and support over the past year.

We remain committed to investing in the latest evidence-based treatments and technology, while continuing to deliver the five-star care and personal service that our patients deserve.

We look forward to welcoming you to the clinic and supporting you on your journey to better joint and muscle health.
